West Virginia’s capitol, in Charleston, was the thirteenth capitol I photographed. I spent less than 24 hours in Charleston, arriving late in the evening after the sun had long set and leaving the following morning. The result is a series of shots I wish I could do again - the nighttime shots were too late, missing golden hour and blue hour entirely, while the morning shots all happened with strong cloud cover. West Virginia’s beautiful dome, inlaid with gold features, deserved better. I also didn’t spend enough time in the interior. Another for the list of “to return tos.” These photos were all taken in December of 2012.
