In late July and early August, my family and I traveled to the Pacific Northwest - Idaho, Oregon, Washington - for nearly two weeks. It was the biggest trip we’ve all been on together, and the furthest west my kids have ever been. No amount of photography could do it justice, but we had a wonderful time and I got some nice images out of it as well. Below are some of my favorites.

On July 18, I participated in a photo walk in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, with Hunt’s Photo. It was a beautiful night, including a fireworks show on the beach. Here are a few of my favorites from that night.

My family and I were lucky enough to get away for a week in Montana, a state none of us had ever visited. We tried to make the most of it, circling the western part of the state with stops in Bozeman, Helena (got to get my capitol!), Glacier National Park, Missoula, and Butte, along with a few stops along the way.

Even though I live just a half hour away from a state capitol building, it had been some time since I’d visited with photography in mind. So in between trips, I decided to spend an evening at the Massachusetts State House; unfortunately my schedule didn’t allow me time inside, but I was able to fill out my collection of exterior shots of this unique brick and gold building.

A week and a half in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and upstate New York was a nice little getaway for the family, and offered many different photographic opportunities, from ballpark photos to low-light caverns to cityscapes. Here are a handful of photos from the trip; these have been added to the Travel page.
