North Carolina's capitol, in Raleigh, was the thirty second capitol I photographed. One of the problems with one day visits is I can’t control the weather, and I was contending with cloudy skies and rain the morning I was in Raleigh. The capitol consists of the historic building dating back to 1833, and a 1963 Legislative building which now houses the House and Senate. The historic building is fairly small and not overly impressive, but the lack of good light contributed to that sense, most likely. The Legislative Building is interesting in a modernist way, but the galleries for both houses were closed so the best I could do was to shoot through the glass windows into them. These photos were all taken in February of 2022.
