Louisiana’s capitol, in Baton Rouge, was the twenty fifth capitol I photographed. Louisiana’s capitol is the tallest state capitol in the country, a 1920s tower in the art deco style. It includes an observation deck from which you can see the Mississippi River wind around all of Baton Rouge. This set also includes the famous bullet hole supposedly from Gov. Huey Long’s assassination in the capitol in the 1930s. Long is buried under his statue on the grounds, one of only two people I know of who are buried at state capitols. These photos were all taken in February of 2016.
