Kentucky’s capitol, in Frankfort, was the twenty eighth capitol I photographed. The Kentucky Capitol is in the middle of a residential neighborhood of the small city of Frankfort, and is visible from everywhere in the city, which gave me some good photographic options. The weather wasn’t super cooperative, especially in the morning I was there, but the building made up for it with one of the better lighting setups I’ve seen, bathing the dome in alternating green and red light for Christmas. The statue of Jefferson Davis, which stood in the rotunda when I visited, has since thankfully been removed. This set also features a couple shots of the old Kentucky Capitol. These photos were all taken in December of 2017.
