Maryland’s State House, in Annapolis, was the eighteenth capitol I photographed. The Maryland State House is the oldest capitol in continuous use in the US; Maryland’s assembly first met here in 1772. It is also the only to feature a wooden dome, which rises above everything else in this small city. I was able to catch views of the capital from the harbor, and even from several locations across the water from the city itself. The statue of racist Supreme Court Justice Roger B. Taney was thankfully removed in 2017. These photos were all taken in July and August of 2013.
